These meetings are an important opportunity for industry employers to discuss issues affecting workforce development in WA such as skills and labour shortages and training needs. North Regional TAFE's Broome Hospitality and Student Services Centre has moved forward with tenders for the construction of the $10 million project now open. Once finalised the project aims to create state-of-the-art facilities, giving the region greater access to speciality training in hospitality, tourism, hair and beauty and creating more than 1,000 jobs.

SkillsIQ, under the direction of the Wholesale and Retail Industry Reference Committee (IRC), is undertaking a project to develop a new nationally accredited Advanced Diploma of Visual Merchandising and five new Visual Merchandising Units of Competency.
