If you are not a member and would like to join a group please email the Industry Consultant listed below. These meetings are an important opportunity for industry employers to discuss issues affecting workforce development in WA such as skills and labour shortages and training needs. This feedback is essential in ensuring we provide real-time advice to the State Government into areas such as:

Times to be confirmed  The MAR Industry Reference Committee has submitted the Case for Endorsement and draft Training Package materials for the Autonomous Maritime Systems project to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee for their consideration. The materials include a new Certificate III in Autonomous Maritime Systems, eight new Units of Competency and three new Skill Sets. These draft products provide a national and standardised approach to training for Autonomous Maritime Systems (AMS), Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) and Underwater Surface Vessels (USV) job roles.

Maritime Day celebrates all aspects of the maritime industry and this years’ celebration and will be held on the 29 October 2022 from 10am to 4pm at Fremantle Passenger Terminal. The day will be packed with entertainment including marching bands, and naval demonstrations.

Australian Industry Standards (AIS) recently released the 2022 Supply Chain Industry Outlook that identifies six megatrends impacting the supply chain. The Outlook focuses on the following industries in the supply chain that AIS supports: Transport and Logistics, Aviation, Maritime, and Rail.
The report is a snapshot of a continually evolving story that is intended to alert and inform a wide audience and enhance the industry’s capacity to act on workforce development initiatives. It also looks at the impact of COVID-19 while addressing the critical role that supply chains play in enabling a strong Australian economy. You can access the Industry Outlook here. Fremantle Ports Maritime Day has been postponed and will now be held on Saturday 29 October 2022. Maritime Day celebrates all aspects of the maritime industry and with over 90 displays there is something for everyone. The Australian Industry Skills Committee (AISC) has recently released Cases for Change for Rail, Aviation, Transport and Logistics, Maritime, and Defence sectors. This work is aimed at ensuring qualifications, Skill Sets and Units of Competency reflect current technologies, industry practices, and regulations and requires industry feedback required by Tuesday, 11 May 2021 for all sectors.
