Launch of 2022 Supply Chain Outlook

Australian Industry Standards (AIS) recently released the 2022 Supply Chain Industry Outlook that identifies six megatrends impacting the supply chain. The Outlook focuses on the following industries in the supply chain that AIS supports: Transport and Logistics, Aviation, Maritime, and Rail.

The report is a snapshot of a continually evolving story that is intended to alert and inform a wide audience and enhance the industry’s capacity to act on workforce development initiatives. It also looks at the impact of COVID-19 while addressing the critical role that supply chains play in enabling a strong Australian economy.

RTO Forum – 3 December 2021

We were delighted to see an incredible turnout of RTOs representing our diverse industry coverage areas on Friday 3 December 2021 at the LDSC annual RTO Forum. With at least representative from each industry sector: Maritime, Retail, Aviation, Road Transport, Rail, Warehousing and Logistics. A thank you to all our presenters who provided an update on their respective areas with insight into what is occurring for their organisations next year:

Transport and Logistics IRC Recommend Heavy Vehicle Driver Apprenticeship be Developed

1/11/2021

Following consultation over September to October 2021, Australian Industry Standards (AIS) have advised, the Transport and Logistics Industry Reference Committee (IRC) have recommended that a national apprenticeship be established utilising the existing Certificate III in Driving Operations (TLI 31221).

Feedback Sought: Rail Customer Service (TLI Training Package)

The Rail Industry Reference Committee has submitted the Case for Endorsement and draft Training Package materials for the Rail Customer Service project to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) for their consideration. The materials include updates to two qualifications, one Skill Set and eight associated Units of Competency, addressing customer service skills and knowledge related to ticketing and security requirements.

Annual Australian Industry Standards (AIS) Stakeholder Survey

Australian Industry Standards (AIS) are seeking feedback on their performance as a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) over the past year. The 10-minute survey looks for comment and feedback on current industry engagement including areas done well and room for improvement.

The Customs Broking, Driving Instruction and Materiel and Deployment Logistics projects have commenced and the Transport and Logistics Industry Reference Committee (IRC) is forming a Technical Advisory Committee for each project.
